TILLYFEST - 24th – 26TH AUGUST 2012 AT TOW LAW TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB

Wikio - Top Blogs - Wine and beerTillyfest music and beer festival was established to support a very special little girl called Tilly Lockey who sadly lost her hands at a very early age to Meningococcal Septicaemia.

This is a deadly form of meningitis which there is still no vaccination for. Since then many people have contributed to raising money for Tilly so that she can lead a normal life.

Please read Tilly’s full story at www.givetillyahand.com

There will be 20-30 beers on over the weekend, including Mithril's Route A66 and Leeds and Reading Festivale. An excellent music list, camping and entertainment and more importantly you can have a good time knowing your cash is going towards a great cause.

Please see http://www.tillyfest.co.uk/index.html for further details

Enjoy!

FEAST - THE CARRYING OF THE SACRED TENT

Wikio - Top Blogs - Wine and beer
Apologies for lack of posting, but as with previous years this has been Aldbrough  Feast week and I have been really busy.

The Brewery held an open afternon last Saturday, again apologies for lack of photo's for this event -what an amazing day it was. Well attended by friends, family, villagers and others but again far too busy to take photo's - £221.83 was raised in donations to the Feast by this event - thanks to all who came!

The phote above is of an occurence that usually takes place at least once during the Feast when the marquee needs to be moved from one site to another. Doing it this way is much easier than dismantling it and having to re-erect it.

Stone, me is that isn't my dad at the front on the right with his good friend Ken following up the rear - apologies I can't quite make out the face peeking out at the other side!

Feast went out to the following fine ale houses:

The Old Well, Barnard Castle
The Ship, Middlestone Village
The Heifer, Scorton
The Crown, Mickleton
The Black Bull, Melsonby
Dog Agility at Winston - they have fine palates those dogs
The George, Piercebridge
The Stanwick. Aldbrough St John
Brewery Open day and also Village Feast Picnic

Enjoy!

5 RINGS - MY PRECIOUS, MY PRECIOUS, MY PRECIOUS, MY PRECIOUS, MY PRECIOUS

Wikio - Top Blogs - Wine and beer

The colour of the rings were chosen by the International Olympic Committee (I.O.C) to represent the union of the 5 continents Australia, Africa, America, Asia & Europe.

Or, in my formation, the black ring is the aerial view of a pint of beer, and the other rings are the markings of pint glass when used without a beer mat - tsk tsk.

Or why not pop along to one of the following fine ale houses for  your own bit of  olympic enjoyment:
