YORKSHIRE ROSE FOR YORKSHIRE DAY

Wikio - Top Blogs - Wine and beer

Once more blog posts are running a bit late - oops - blame it on the weather and good beer sales (hurrah).

It is Aldbrough St John Feast week. I had my annual open day on Saturday just gone, and have also been very busy with the preparations for that.

Anyway, enough poor excuses! Yorkshire Rose was brewed to commemorate Yorkshire Day which was on the 1st August. Would have been rude, as I am Yorkshire born and bred and also with a brewery in Yorkshire to boot!

Some more information on Yorkshire Day can be found on the following link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yorkshire_Day

The beer may or may not available at the following fine ale houses:

The Old Well, Barnard Castle
The Ship, Middlestone Village
Cafe 1618, Middleton In Teesdale
The White Swan, Gilling West
The Stanwick, Aldbrough St John
The Croft Hotel, Croft On Tees
The Horseshoe Inn, West Rounton
It was also on the bar at my open day and a private army function.

Enjoy!

TOP DOG - ANNUAL OUTING

Wikio - Top Blogs - Wine and beer

On the 24th July it was announced that one man and his dog was to be incorporated into BBC 1's Countryfile programme.

At the same time that this announcement was made, I was brewing my homage to the working dog.

Whilst, dogs are usually thought of as man's best friend, these dogs didn't care about man's needs! They promptly ordered most of my stock of this ale for their ten day agility show which was taking place outside of Winston.

The following fine ales houses managed to beat the dogs at their own game and get the last few casks:

The Half Moon, Darlington
The Strathmore Arms, Holwick
The White Swan, Gilling West
The Old Vic, Darlington
The Croft Hotel, Croft on Tees
The Four Alls, Ovington
The Stanwick, Aldbrough St John
A cask also went to the Yarnbury Beer Festival

I am running a bit behind with blogging due to the recent Darlington CAMRA beer festival - but will be doing my best to catch up over the next week! Cheers!
