ANOTHER IN THE AD HOC SERIES OF 'CORINNA BUYS A MEAL'
THIS WEEKS SORTIE WAS TO THE WHITE SWAN IN GILLING WEST. WE ENJOYED DELICIOUS MAINS. FOR ME, A REAL PASTRY SHORT CRUST STEAK AND ALE PIE AND FOR THE WIF HAM AND EGGS. BUT, THE REAL STANDOUT OF THE NIGHT WAS THE SHARED STARTER OF A BLACK PUDDING AND BACON TOWER. OH, AND WHAT BEER WAS PUT ON WHILST I WAS THERE BUT ONLY MITHRIL ALES 'YEAR OF THE RABBIT' -
THE PUBS DOES A VARIETY OF MAINS FROM A BARGAIN £5.95 (THE SPECIAL THE NIGHT WE WENT WAS £5.95) TO A STILL REASONABLE £11.95 FOR THE MORE EXPENSIVE MAINS.
AND DID I MENTION THEY STOCK MITHRIL ALES?
