PEDAL POWER - TOUR DE FRANCE ALE
I'M NOT A CYCLIST (BET THAT WILL COME AS A SHOCK). BUT, IT WAS GREAT TO SEE SO MANY SUPPORTING THE TOUR AS IT SNAKED IT'S WAY AROUND YORKSHIRE.
ALL CREDIT TO THE SPECTATORS WHO WALKED UP TO THE BUTTERTUBS, AND TOOK THEIR LIFE IN THEIR HANDS TO CHEER THE RIDERS ON (IT CAN BE BAD ENOUGH DRIVING UP THERE SOMETIMES).
FURTHER INFORMATION ON 'LE TOUR' CAN BE FOUND ON THE FOLLOWING SITE:
http://www.letour.fr/le-tour/2014/us/
THE ALE WENT OUT TO THE FOLLOWING PUBS, BUT THIRSTY CYCLISTS MAY HAVE ALREADY DRANK IT ALL:
THE OLD WELL, BARNARD CASTLE
THE GEORGE, PIERCEBRIDGE
THE HALF MOON, DARLINGTON
THE WHITE SWAN, GILLING WEST
SCARTH HALL, STAINDROP
THE STANWICK, ALDBROUGH ST JOHN
THE CROFT HOTEL, CROFT ON TEES
THE FOUR ALLS, OVINGTON
ENJOY!
