BEER FLOOD 200 - THE LONDON BEER FLOOD
THE 'LONDON BEER FLOOD' IS A LITTLE KNOWN DISASTER WHICH OCCURRED ON THE 17TH OCTOBER IN 1814.
EIGHT CASUALTIES WERE RECORDED, COMPARED TO SIX FOR THE FIRE OF LONDON. HAD THE 'FLOOD' OCCURRED AS PEOPLE WERE SETTING OF FOR WORK THE CASUALTIES COULD HAVE BEEN HIGHER, AS 1,470,000 LITRES OF BEER GUSHED OUT INTO THE STREET.
SO WHY 200? WELL THIS IS MY 200TH NEW BEER SINCE I STARTED BREWING.
