THE CASTLE PLAYERS ALE - BEER AS YOU LIKE IT

"Is there any other group, amateur or professional, apart possibly from the RSC, which could fill any venue in Teesdale for four nights with any work by the Bard?"

Local community theatre group 'The Castle Players'' were born during a power cut when a game off charades ensued in The Old Well Inn many years ago. Therefore having fun and a beer has always been linked to the group.

I was delighted when they asked me if I could brew something up especially for them to celebrate this connection and to coincide with this years summer production of Shakespears 'As You Like It'.

I have produced a special beer named 'The Castle Players Ale, beer As You Like It'. Having come up with my recipe, I invited a few of the cast to the Brewery in nearby Aldbrough St John to help make the brew. We hope you like it!

Well it would have been rude not to have offered the Castle Players a drink after their hard work!

A big thank you to the Teesdale Mercury who came to the brewery, and the article published on the 4th July, the Northerrn Echo and also Radio Teesdale - their interview available on the following link

The beer will be available for a limited time in the following  pubs around Teesdale and Darlington, and of course at The Old Well Inn, Barnard Castle!
The Cross Keys, Gainford
The Red Lio, Cotherstone
The Stanwick, Aldbrough St John
The Snooker Club, Darlington
Dog Agility - Winston - those lucky dogs again!!!!
Enjoy!
