The Tour de France is a cycling event which covers over 2200 miles in 21 flat, mountainous and time-trial stages. This year's Tour de France began in Passage du Gois near Fromentine on Saturday, July 2, and will end in Paris, France this coming Sunday, the 24th July.
The Mithril Ales alternative Tour De Beer started on Monday the 16th July, ended tonight and covered about 140 miles. Just in case my trusty Peugeot Partner wasn't able to make the arduous roads of both County Durham and North Yorkshire, Plan B for delivery involved a cycling friend with pins or casks strapped to him. Luckily, Plan B was not needed - but depending which of the following fine ale houses you go to you may see one, or both of the beer clips. Bon Voyage!
The Old Well, Barnard Castle
The Cross Keys, Gainford
The Ship Inn, Middlestone Village
The Crown, Mickleton
The Crown Inn, Manfield
The Quakerhouse, Darlington
The Old Yard Tapas Bar, Darlington
The Black Bull, Melsonby
The Tickle Toby, Northallerton
The Teesdale Hotel, Middleton In Teesdale
Enjoy!
