AT THIS TIME OF YEAR WE ALWAYS BREW A SPECIAL ALE FOR THE RICHMOND BEER FESTIVAL. FOR THE THIRD YEAR RUNNING (NO PUN INTENDED) IT WAS NAMED BY GARY YOUNG (OF SWALEDALE RUNNERS) IN HONOUR OF THE RICHMOND 10K RACE.
BOTH THE BEER FESTIVAL AND THE RACE HAD TO MOVE VENUE THIS YEAR. HOPEFULLY NEXT YEAR THEY MAY BE ABLE TO SHARE VENUES ONCE MORE? OUR ATTENDANCE AT BOTH EVENTS (BEER FEST AND THE 10K) WAS HAMPERED BY MY SISTER IN LAW GETTING MARRIED THE SAME WEEKEND.
WHILST, WE BOTH HAD A GREAT TIME AT THE AFORESAID WEDDING. WE WOULD LIKE TO REMIND FAMILY MEMBERS TO AVOID BOTH BEER FESTIVALS AND RACES WHEN CHOOSING DATES FOR MEANINGFUL CELEBRATIONS. IF THIS PROVES PROBLEMATIC, PLEASE NOTE IF THE HOTEL BAR SERVES BODDINGTONS AND BLACK SHEEP ON KEG THAT THESE ARE NOT, I REPEAT THESE ARE NOT REAL ALES. THANK-YOU
THIRST FOR GLORY WENT OUT TO THE FOLLOWING FINE ALE HOUSES:
